Het album van Stevie Wonder ‘The Secret Life of Plants’ uit 1979, inspireerde me tot het maken van een serie botanische tekeningen. Intuïtief, op het grensgebied van realiteit en het onbekende.
Het begon allemaal met een stuk gemberwortel in een groot glas water: er begon spontaan van alles te groeien. Ik ben mijn hele leven al gefascineerd door de groei en bloei van planten en dieren.
Deze serie tekeningen kreeg dan ook de titel: ‘The Secret Life of Roots’
